How to get started
Choose the skill you came to work on.
Open Coach and review the offered Daily Drills or browse the drill library. Pick a focus that fits your court, available time, and current goals. Read the diagram and instructions before starting.
Follow the drill’s spots and reps.
Work through the prescribed sequence rather than improvising the result halfway through. Use the app’s supported recording and review flow for the drill. On iPhone, a paired Watch can guide supported recorded drills.
Review, save, and choose what comes next.
Check the shot outcomes before saving a recorded drill. Look at your completed practice and choose your next focus. Goals, streaks, and achievements reflect recorded activity, not proof that your shooting ability has improved.
Build a more complete shooting routine
Finishing, free throws, midrange shots, and threes each ask different questions of your game. Use the library to make room for skills you would otherwise skip. Deep-range work is another option when appropriate for your ability and practice space.
Choose a repeatable drill when you want to compare sessions. Keep the shot type, spots, and rules similar, and record what you actually did. A shorter completed drill is more useful than a target you never work through.
Daily Drills and Daily Challenges
Coach offers daily practice options so you have a starting point when you open the app. Guided drills provide a prescribed sequence; timed challenges add a defined focus and time constraint. Read the offer’s rules and use its supported completion flow.
Coach personalities change the tone of the experience. They do not turn the app into a personal coach observing your body or guarantee a particular result. Features and access can vary between iPhone and Android and across subscription plans.
Connect the plan to the session record
Hoopy combines drill guidance with session tracking and video review. That connection lets you revisit the work you completed, check your goals, and see whether you are returning consistently to the skills you wanted to practice.
Use statistics alongside context. A finishing drill, free-throw set, and timed three-point challenge are different tasks. Comparing their percentages alone can hide what each workout was designed to train.
Practice safely and at your level
Adapt your activity to your ability and available space. Keep a recording phone away from play, allow recovery, and stop when conditions are unsafe or activity causes concern. Hoopy supports a training routine; it does not replace qualified coaching or medical advice.
Hoopy is free to download, with some access and premium features requiring Hoopy Legend. Current offers, eligibility, and prices are shown in the app before purchase.
